Budapest

Budapest

Condé Nast recently named it one of the most welcoming cities in the world, and Budapest really does have everything to offer.

The two ancient cities of Buda and Pest, now united into a single city, both offer different sights and activities. In recent decades, the city has become one of the most popular short break destinations in Europe, and for good reason. Condé Nast recently named it one of the most welcoming cities in the world, and Budapest really does have everything to offer.

The Danube flows right through the middle of Budapest and the lights of the illuminated bridges are an impressive sight. Many visitors to Budapest always mention how beautiful the city is, and you can not help but be dazzled by the city’s most famous landmark, the Szechenyi Bridge and Castle Hill, especially at night.

The old town of Buda is home to a cobblestone mediaeval quarter, a historic palace and the Gothic Matthias Church. On the other side of the Danube, in Pest, are Hungary’s magnificent Parliament building and Heroes’ Square. The wide, elegant boulevards lined with beautiful buildings are a wonderful place for a romantic stroll for two. Andrássy Avenue, with its elegant 19th-century mansions, is the city’s main shopping street, where you can stroll while visiting the best shops, cafés and bars Budapest has to offer.

If you are a lover of architecture, you will find it in Budapest, which is a mixture of neoclassical, baroque and art nouveau buildings; if you have never been to beautiful Budapest, then perhaps it is time to go there. It would be a shame to visit this wonderful city on your own. Surely it would be a much more enjoyable trip if you spent it in the company of a gorgeous, intelligent high-class escort who enjoys your company as much as you enjoy hers? Well, that’s where we come in.

Places to visit in Budapest…

Castle Hill

The winding streets and leafy promenades of Castle Hill lead past Baroque houses, Habsburg monuments and cafés, including the early 19th-century Ruszwurm. Among the main attractions is Buda Castle, which now houses the Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum.

Fisherman’s Bastion

The Fisherman’s Bastion (Halászbástya) is one of Budapest’s most famous monuments and is located near the Buda Castle. It is one of the most important tourist attractions, as you can enjoy a unique view of Budapest from its neo-Romanesque viewing terraces.

Margaret Island

Margaret Island, a green oasis in the Danube between Buda and Pest, is a quiet haven in the middle of the city. Like most parks, the island is best visited in spring, summer and early autumn. In winter, the island is very quiet – but it’s still a good time to visit, especially when it’s covered with snow and exudes a very romantic atmosphere.

Four Seasons Gresham Palace Budapest, Széchenyi István tér 5-6, 1051 Hungary

Let us start with the absolute best hotel in Budapest. It’s grand, luxurious and perfectly located to reach shops, restaurants and the castle district. If you had to describe the style of this building, it would be Art Nouveau; palatial with its marble, mosaics, handmade carpets like the intricate tapestries, stained glass and gilded statues. I especially like how beautiful the hotel looks from the outside at night.

It is beautifully lit and looks so romantic. With 179 rooms to choose from, I am sure you and your date will enjoy a wonderful stay here. Some rooms overlook the Buda Castle across the river, others have balconies. The rooms are cosy, if a little small (as you would expect in a city hotel) After all, it’s all about a memorable weekend. Decorated in tasteful neutral tones, the Tower Suite is both relaxing and decadent. It is modern yet a home away from home. Located on the 5th floor, it offers views of the Danube, Chain Bridge, Buda Hills, Royal Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion. It also has a luxurious marble bathroom.

Once you have rested, it’s time to eat, drink and relax. The Four Seasons Gresham Palace has three restaurants that leave nothing to be desired. There is a bar and brasserie, a more formal restaurant and a bakery with the most wonderful cakes. There is a whole range of fabulous restaurants, from casual to formal, Hungarian to international, right on the doorstep of this fabulous hotel. When it’s time to unwind, be sure to visit the spa to enjoy a Hungarian mud therapy or a relaxing massage.

The Ritz Carlton Budapest, Erzsébet tér 9-10, 1051 Hungary

Super central, right on Váci utca, St Stephen’s Basilica and Andrássy út. So sightseeing will not be a problem! Like all Ritz-Carlton hotels, they do their best to blend in with the surroundings, yet are the height of luxury. Plush sofas and lush floral decorations give the hotel lobby a welcoming and sumptuous feel. If well-being is at the forefront of your trip, then you and your companion will enjoy the pool, spa and sauna at this opulent hotel. You’ll feel like you have been reborn in the spa-equipped spa. With 200 rooms, 29 of which are suites, you are assured of a relaxing stay.

Club rooms offer access to a lunge and have a balcony. Tastefully decorated in warm taupe tones with contemporary furnishings, the Carlton Suite offers a king-size bed, panoramic views of Fashion Street, a marble bathroom with rainforest shower and separate bathtub. You and your companion will have a fabulous stay here, and small edible treats will be left in your suite daily. A beautiful hotel that, despite being a chain, still offers a personal touch.

Anantara New York Palace, Budapest, Erzsébet krt. 9, 1073 Hungary

This Baroqe-inspired hotel houses the famous New York Cafe and makes fantasy a reality. Fine dining, a luxurious spa and pool, and pampering rooms and suites await you. Here on Erzsébet Koerút Boulevard, you are close to the theatres, restaurants and bars on the Pest side of the Danube. The Anantara New York Palace is not afraid of a dose of colour. Lots of fabulous warm reds and lots of gold adorn the restaurants and bars of this fabulous hotel. The rooms and suites are a little safer (the ones that have been updated) and tastefully decorated in neutral tones, like most hotels in this city. I suspect it appeals more to tourists and looks much cleaner and more modern. There are many more Hungarian dishes and cuisines in this hotel than in the other two.

If you are looking for an authentic Hungarian experience for you and your companion, this is the hotel for you. The New York Cafe is not to be missed.
