London’s Prettiest Restaurants

Now that spring is here, why not spend an afternoon lunch date with one of our gorgeous girls? We’ve compiled a list of London’s prettiest restaurants, ones that are guaranteed to wow your date. Experience the most aesthetically pleasing eateries our wonderful city has to offer, hopefully in the sunshine.

Here is our guide to London’s prettiest restaurants

Scott’s Richmond, 4 Whittaker Avenue, Richmond, TW9 1EH

Scott’s Richmond is the younger sister restaurant of Scott’s Mayfair. Quite a lot younger, to be honest, since the origins of Scott’s in Mayfair can be traced back to the 1800s, and the Richmond venue opened in 2022. Richmond, famed for its beautiful views of the Thames and, of course, the park with its adorable deer, really makes one feel as if they have escaped the hustle and bustle of London. It is the perfect short escape, and Scott’s Richmond is the prettiest eatery. Ideal for a romantic rendezvous with a beautiful date.

The Richmond restaurant is a copy and paste of the Mayfair spot, but on a much larger, grander scale. The tables here are much further apart, and the restaurant can host 176 covers compared with 130 in Mayfair. The floor-to-ceiling Georgian-style windows, high ceilings and two floors really make you feel far away from the cramped city, although in reality you are 40 minutes away by car. Split over two floors, the upstairs has a restaurant and bar. A few times a week, a pianist plays, which creates a sophisticated and bygone ambience. Weather permitting, the balcony tables offer breathtaking, sweeping views of the Thames.

As we have come to expect, the food and service at Scott’s is first class. The staff are polite, pristine and knowledgeable. The menu is classic but exceptionally well curated. All your seafood favourites, from popular in the eighties prawn cocktail to fashionable in the 90s, scallops alongside lobster, monkfish and my personal favourite, Dover sole. The best Dover sole I have ever tasted. Book a table and take one of our beautiful companions to an experience for yourself.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden, 195–197 King’s Road, Chelsea, SW3 5EQ

A Chelsea institution. Although The Ivy Chelsea Garden only opened in 2015, it feels like it has always been there. Much like the Bluebird and the town hall. I cannot imagine Kings Road without this beautifully floral restaurant and bar. You cannot miss this place, quite literally, as there is always a seasonal floral arrangement adorning the entrance. Valentines, Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas are always a cause for a new floral arrangement, and they seem to get more ambitious with each season. Once you step inside, you are welcomed by the stained-glass entrance doors, polished mahogany wood and a Maître d dressed in a garish but beautiful floral suit or dress. The original Ivy on West Street opened in 1917, and each Ivy since carries the same hallmarks in terms of service and style.

Inside, the restaurant has a capacity for 150 covers, seated at white-clothed tables. The main dining room could be any other Ivy, with its bustling bar and green leather-upholstered chairs. What makes this venue gorgeous and special is the 120-over outdoor area. A real secret garden that is evergreen, thanks to electric heaters and overhead cover, should the British weather not play ball. Landscaped to within an inch of its life, this garden is such a magical place for a romantic date in the heart of Chelsea. A botanical paradise in the middle of SW3, a world away from red buses and black cabs and hurried pedestrians outside. For an escape to the English countryside whilst not stepping outside of Zone 1, head to The Ivy Chelsea Garden, take a gorgeous date and order a bottle of Whispering Angel.

The Terrace at The Rosewood Hotel, 252 High Holborn, WC1V 7EN

This year, The Terrace at the Rosewood shall be temporarily renamed “La Terrazzo by Grey Goose” as the premium vodka brand takes over the idyllic space at the Holborn hotel. Bringing French summer flair to West London. A wonderfully chic alfresco dining and drinking area is covered with blue and white awnings, pristine white tablecloths and even a wooden board with tomatoes and olive oil perched on every table. You could be in Cannes or St Tropez if the weather behaves.

Each year, a different beverage brand seems to redesign the terrace. Villa Minute did the same a couple of years back and brought Provence to Holborn in a similar way. Before that, the patron renamed the terrace “La Verdana” for the summer. It is no doubt a beautiful face to have a stunning hot date. Olive trees in terracotta planters, cream outdoor sofas and ivy climbing the terrace all add to the South of France feel.

This year, expect a vodka-heavy cocktail list and enjoy this “pop-up” at the Rosewood. It is a great date venue to enjoy, as next summer it will no doubt be slightly different.

Clos Maggiore, 33 King Street, Covent Garden, WC2

The first restaurant that springs to mind when anyone says “prettiest restaurants” is Clos Maggiore. Inspired by Provence and Tuscany, it is often described as one of the most romantic restaurants in the world. Of course, it is an upscale restaurant with fantastic fine dining and above and beyond service, but it is the conservatory area that really wows you. Even saying “conservatory” feels like an injustice. Described as a “fairy room”, the glass-roofed dining room is illuminated by tiny twinkling fairy lights, flagstoned floors and blossom-adorned ceilings. Summer or winter, Clos Maggiore is a magical experience. In the warmer months, you and your gorgeous date will feel like you are in the South of France. During the winter, it feels like you are in a cosy winter wonderland. Book a table and see for yourself why it is currently Architectural Digest’s and Harden’s most romantic restaurant in the world.
