The Caribbean

The Caribbean

The Caribbean is the perfect romantic dream holiday for you and a beautiful companion. Jet away to a tropical paradise for sun, sea and stunning company. Enjoy a warm welcome from friendly Caribbean locals and experience luxurious resorts that will feel like heaven on earth. The Caribbean consists of twenty-six islands, more if you count the islets. English, French and Spanish are the predominant languages.

With direct flights multiple times a day from most major UK airports, reaching the Caribbean could not be easier. On average, flights are around 9 hours from the UK and the Caribbean is five hours behind. However, with lounge access and a business or first class flat bed you can start relaxing the moment you pass through airport security. Let your Caribbean dream holiday commence.

Here are a few Caribbean resorts for you inspiration…

Sugar Beach, St Lucia

Upon arrival at the airport you will be collected by an SUV with water or local beer and taken to Sugar Beach. A former sugar plantation (hence the name), Sugar Beach is situated between the Piton mountains. The Piton mountains are no ordinary land mass, they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Two impressive mountains that appear side by side: Gros Piton and Petit Piton, with this five star resort nestled between them.

Fun fact: the local beer also takes the mountains namesake! As soon as you arrive you are greeted with a welcome cocktail and the pace of life slows right down. A golf cart takes you to your accommodation which varies from beach side villas to mountain view beach houses. Each villa is either right on the beach or has its own pool. Being a mountainous area the views are spectacular. Sugar Beach is said to be the best beach in St Lucia. It is unspoilt and super private. The only people permitted to the resort are guests and the impressive yachts that moor in the bay. It is very exclusive and feels very upscale and polished.

You will find everything from cream cakes to caviar on offer at eateries throughout the resort. Whether you like a rum punch and a burger at the Jalouise Grill or fine dining at the Palm Court there is something for all palates.

The spa is fantastic, like something Star Wars Ewok’s might reside in. Lots of tree houses facilitate the spa treatments on offer so you can be forgiven for thinking that you have just stepped right into Return of the Jedi. A truly magical spa with plenty of soothing treatments on offer. You really will feel refreshed and revitalised from top to toe. There is even a hair-dressing and beauty salon so you can both look your best.

Do not miss out on the wonderful St Lucian sunsets. There is something about sitting beside a beautiful girl with a sundowner in hand watching day turn to night. At Sugar beach they hold sunset parties a few times a week on a jetty bar. It is super relaxed and the perfect way to end your day and begin your evening. Don’t take our word for it, get planning your Caribbean dream holiday.

Jumby Bay, Antigua

When you land in Antigua, you’ll be met at the airport and taken by boat to Jumby Bay. Jumby Bay is a private island off the north coast of Antigua. Super private and ultra exclusive, this is no ordinary West Indies holiday. The service is first class. As soon as you arrive, the staff greet you with a refreshing cocktail and your luggage is taken to your luxury accommodation.

The villas are stunning. High ceilings, colonial-style fans and a large bathroom with double sinks and an indoor and outdoor shower. The villas are light and airy and all a stone’s throw from the beach, but each has its own pool. The villas are perfectly spaced so you have optimal privacy.

Jumby Bay is arguably one of, if not the most luxurious all-inclusive resorts in the world. Cocktails, wines, house champagne and rum are included in the price. You can ride your assigned villa bike to the bar and lounge or explore the island. No stone is left unturned here when it comes to luxury. Interestingly, every night there is a hand-painted stone or shell next to your bed. You and your companion will feel really well taken care of here. Highly recommended.

Hermitage Bay, Antigua

Your five-star Antiguan paradise. Whether you prefer hillside, oceanfront or beachfront suites, this idyllic resort has all your needs covered. Quiet and relaxing, this is a quieter area of vibrant Antigua. It’s particularly suitable for couples, as your villa offers maximum privacy. The resort is all-inclusive and you dine at the bar or in the restaurant from a seasonal menu prepared by international chefs. On some evenings, the staff organise a beach barbecue with steel drums and live music.

The beach is stunning and some say the sand is slightly pink. Find out for yourself as you recline on your deckchairs and soak up the sun’s rays. If you want to relax even more, Hermitage Bay offers a Garden Spa, a fully equipped fitness centre with Pilates and yoga classes. It’s an intimate place as there’s only one bar and restaurant, so the staff become familiar with you. You feel very secluded and really sit in the lap of luxury. The in-house cocktail “Hermitage Gold” is a sparkling blend of champagne and rum that will get you in the holiday mood in no time.
