Dinner by Heston

Heston Blumenthal’s two Michelin starred restaurant, Dinner. If you are looking to impress with innovative, perfectly presented dishes and an extensive drinks list then you have come to the right place. Worthy of two Michelin stars, the dishes come with a hefty price tag as one would expect. However this is the place to really devour and enjoy yourselves. Expect creative twists on mains such as halibut, lamb and prime rib eye, and new takes on dishes like the infamous ‘Meat Fruit’ from the 1500s and Salamagundy from the 1800s, in a stunning dining setting with a theatrical, open kitchen. The top table is a ring-side booth inside Heston’s cooking lab itself.

The Aubrey

If you like a cocktail and Japanese food then will certainly love The Aubrey. .A social place where the atmosphere is always vibrant. Sake and sashimi with live DJ’s will ensure that you have a fantastic night with plenty of fun. As with anything at the Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park it is polished and perfected to the highest standard. No two nights at The Aubrey will ever be the same as it offers seasonal cocktails, live DJ sets and a five star Asian menu. You can even book an Omakase experience in a private six seater bar where a skilled mixologist will simply “leave it up to you” as you create your perfect cocktail. The Aubrey is billed as an immersive experience and not just a bite to eat; taking reference from the Japanese word Izakaya, made up of three kanji with the meaning “in order” – stay-drink-place. This really is a venue to grab a drink, settle in, and get comfortable; there are few places that are as elegant, stunning and welcoming to relax, rehydrate and remain in as The Aubrey.

The Rosebery

What could be more perfectly refined after a morning of shopping? Afternoon tea in an airy Victorian room, soaring windows offering views down on to Brompton road, whilst also serving to fill the space with delicious light – all with champagne, of course. The Rosebery has you covered with the most quintessential British experience. Award winning delicate sandwiches and fancy cakes but with a contemporary and seasonal twist. The Rosebery at the Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park is flooded with light thanks to its high ceilings; such a beautiful space with comfortable upholstered seating and free flowing champagne. The perfect spot to spoil your companion, the cherry on the most decadent cake to a perfect date.

Mandarin Bar

No matter how many refurbishments and facelifts the Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park has one thing is always constant; the Mandarin Bar. It is an institution. A cool, contemporary bar where you can unwind in style. Oiled mirrors, the perfect lighting and excellent service combine to make it the perfect haunt for a drink, or five. You can pop in for a pre-dinner cocktail or get a bottle and kick back for a few hours. It is a place where you can stop after a long day shopping in your jeans or you can dial it up and prop up the bar in a suit. It may well be glamorous but it is also very relaxed and welcoming. If you get hungry then Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner has created a lighter range of snacks including a caviar menu for you to enjoy with a drink. All you need is a beautiful lady to accompany you and you’ll have a wonderful venue to unwind together.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park

This maybe the best spa in London; the underground spa is moody and sexy. A bold statement as this city is not short of a spa or two but it really is divine. Choose between oxygen facials, LED light treatments, manicures, pedicures and even a rose massage to have you and your companion feeling refreshed and revitalised after a night or two in the big smoke.
