Of course, the two Michelin-starred dishes come at a price. Nevertheless, this is the place where you can truly devour and enjoy. Look forward to creative variations on main dishes such as halibut, lamb and prime rib eye, as well as new interpretations of dishes such as the infamous 1500s ‘meat fruit’ and 1800s salamagundy in a stunning setting with a theatrical, open kitchen. The top table is in the ring of Heston’s own cooking lab.

The Aubrey

If you like cocktails and Japanese food, you are sure to love the Aubrey. a convivial place where the atmosphere is always lively. Sake and sashimi with live DJ make for a fantastic evening of fun. Like everything at the Mandarin Oriental this restaurant is polished and perfected to the highest standard. No two evenings at The Aubrey will ever be the same, with seasonal cocktails, live sets DJ and a five-star Asian menu. You can even book an omakase experience in a six-seat private bar, where an expert mixologist simply leaves it up to you” to create your perfect cocktail. The Aubrey is touted as an experience, not just a snack. It refers to the Japanese word izakaya, which is made up of three kanji and means “all right” – a place to linger. There are few places as elegant, stunning and inviting to relax, rehydrate and linger as the Aubrey.

The Rosebery

What could be nicer after a morning’s shopping? Afternoon tea in an airy Victorian room whose large windows overlook Brompton Road while filling the room with delicious light – with champagne, of course. The Rosebery offers you the most quintessentially British experience. Award-winning delicate sandwiches and fancy cakes, but with a modern and seasonal twist. The Rosebery is flooded with light thanks to its high ceilings; a beautiful space with comfortable cushioned seating and free flowing champagne. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park

This is perhaps the best spa in London; the underground spa is atmospheric and sexy. A bold claim, as there is no shortage of spas in this city, but they are truly divine. Choose from oxygen facials, LED light treatments, manicures, pedicures and even a rose massage to leave you and your date feeling refreshed and revitalised after a night or two at the Big Smoke. The spa offers special treatments for men as well as alternative therapies using CBD oil. It has a 17-metre indoor pool with two lanes and a fully equipped fitness centre. If you want to get rid of your quirks, try the Movements Studio, which specialises in exercises to improve posture and flexibility.
