London Townhouse Hotels

London Townhouse Hotels offer the ultimate in opulent, romantic stays in the city. According to Wikipedia, a townhouse is:

“A townhousetownhometown house, or town home is a type of terraced housing. A modern townhouse is often one with multiple floors on a small footprint.”

I think that description is incredibly humble, as townhouses are the height of fashion right now and, according to Savills estate agents, are selling for up to £13,000,000 in London. If you wanted to stay for a night or two in a townhouse without splashing out millions of pounds, then look no further than these exquisite five-star London Townhouse Hotels.

Beaverbrook Townhouse, 115-116 Sloane St, Chelsea, SW1X 9PJ

Four years ago, the city outpost of the Beaverbrook family opened in Chelsea following a £25 million renovation. Lord Beaverbrook was known for his lavish lifestyle; in fact, he bought the original Beaverbrook in Surrey after stumbling upon it while walking with his friend, Rudyard Kipling. Back in 1910, he renovated the Victorian mansion, adding a swimming pool and the UK’s first private cinema.

Fast forward to 2021, and the doors of Beaverbrook Townhouse echo that same opulence. 14 immaculately designed suites are available in this lovingly restored Grade II listed Georgian townhouse. Each is named after a London theatre. Nicola Harding designed the interiors of the luxurious dwellings with a Japanese flair. Polished mahogany four-poster beds, embroidered silk cushions and jewelled-toned furnishings create a flamboyant yet tasteful residence. Bathrooms feature bright jewel-toned mosaics stocked with Bamford goodies. The Beaverbrook Townhouse takes the peaceful tranquillity of Surrey and drops it right into the heart of Chelsea.

Whilst there is no gym here, Beaverbrook has partnered with the KXU gym in nearby Pavilion Road. With spin, yoga and strength classes available, you can work up a sweat to feast like a King, guilt-free. You and your gorgeous date can feast on wagyu and sashimi at the in-house restaurant, Fuji Grill. It is not just the decor that nods to the Far East; the menu does too. The head chef even offers a 9-course omakase option, should you put your taste buds in their capable culinary hands. If you are just looking for a beverage, then Frank’s bar will not disappoint. Frank’s is named after the hotel’s Creative Director. A beautifully lit watering hole where you can enjoy a tipple or three. You and your gorgeous Allure companion may never want to check out. One of our favourite London Townhouse Hotels for a night of indulgence.

The Mayfair Townhouse, 27-41 Half Moon St, Mayfair, W1J 7BG

The Mayfair Townhouse may be located at a familiar address if you are an Oscar Wilde fan. Half Moon Street was the setting for his play “The Importance of Being Earnest”. I have a feeling Oscar Wilde would like this place. For starters, you are greeted by a stunning Swarovski-encrusted peacock as soon as you set foot inside. Fabulous, fun and flamboyant in equal measure. London Townhouse Hotels do not come much more stylish yet silly than The Mayfair Townhouse. Quirky artworks and opulent decor, this place screams Mayfair from the top of its lungs. Part of the same hotel family as Cliveden and Chewton Glen, you know that you and a beautiful British girl from Allure will be in safe hands staying here.

The Mayfair Townhouse has 172 rooms because it is, in fact, many townhouses fused together. 27-41 Half Moon Street, to be exact. Each evokes the Dandy era. From snug cabin rooms to spacious Loft suites, each decorated with bold colours and imaginative personal touches. Fun photographs and “dandy candy” bring a sense of humour to your stay.

“I hate people who are not serious about meals. It is so shallow of them.” – Oscar Wilde

You and your chosen Allure model can be very serious about meals here at The Mayfair Townhouse. The real jewel in the crown of this place is the Dandy Bar. A relaxed approach to dining so that you can focus your attentions on one another. Expect pork chops, risotto and sirloin steak. The bar also attracts the Mayfair shoppers looking for a stiff drink after flexing their credit cards in the nearby boutiques.

At Sloane, 1 Sloane Gardens, Chelsea, SW1W 8EA

One of the newest London Townhouse Hotels, and definitely the loveliest of all. A smart red brick townhouse for the incredibly well-heeled traveller. Sloane Square borders Chelsea and Knightsbridge. Well known for its fancy, opulent haunts. Harrods, the Kings Road and Pavilion Road are all within walking distance. A plethora of smart hotels and restaurants are scattered throughout. However, At Sloane is the new kid on the block. French and English influences blend harmoniously together to create one of the most romantic London Townhouse Hotels.

François-Joseph Graf designed all 30 flamboyant yet chic bedrooms in this idyllic London residence. At Sloane is made for romance. Mood lighting, crisp white sheets, black-and-white photos, and roll-top baths for two. At Sloane boasts a rooftop terrace restaurant on the sixth floor and a flamboyant speakeasy-style bar downstairs. Stylish and sophisticated, this is the kind of place you’d expect retired It girls and Chelsea playboys to hang out, as well as the trust fund twenty-somethings. Think jeans and a battered Birkin rather than crass logos for daytime and elegant formal attire for the evenings.

No matter which one of the many London Townhouse Hotels you choose from, each comes with its own story. Entering a townhouse feels familiar and historic yet luxurious. A world away from a faceless giant chain hotel complex. Treat yourself and a stunning Allure companion to a decadent night or two at one of these fabulous London Townhouse Hotels; champagne, lobster and just maybe a four-poster bed.
